The Business Management and Innovation program of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
The Business Management and Innovation program of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University adopts a model combining courses with enterprise practices, enabling students to acquire specialized courses of the HKPU, as well as gain practical experience from multinational enterprises. It also helps cultivate students’ independent and innovative thinking, and enhance decision-making, leadership and teamwork.
B Chinese Language 222 FAN Shutong: During my study at HKPU, I took in many cutting-edge courses on innovative thinking. Through courses such as Leadership and Self-Exploration, Enterprise Structure, Sustainable Development and Entrepreneurship Incubation, not only have I broadened my knowledge, but also learned how to apply these theories to practices. In HKPU’s courses, the interaction was extremely strong, which brought me different experience. It places greater emphasis on interaction and communication, enabling me to better integrate into the courses.
B Buisseness Administration 231 MA Qiyuan: Apart from the HKPU’s courses, we also participated in the professional training organized by Hong Kong AXA Company, which enabled me to accumulate the cutting-edge concepts and practical experience in financial industry. From the very beginning of my internship, I felt the strong professional atmosphere of AXA. I participated in a series of highly valuable training courses. Among them, the FAB rule was the most impressive. I learned how to introduce product to customers precisely and effectively from three dimensions: product features, advantages and customer benefits. This greatly enhanced my marketing thinking and communication skills.
The Internship Program of World 500 Companies in Hong Kong
The Internship Program of World 500 Enterprises aims to provide a high-quality platform for university students to conduct in-depth internships in top-notch enterprises, experience the role of Hong Kong white-collar workers, interact with high-end elites, and obtain future formal internship opportunities. This project enables students to have face-to-face communication with enterprises leadership and understand how financial enterprises run. It also enables students to embark on a journey that integrates theory with practice in a diversified workplace environment, cutting-edge practical projects and an internationalized corporate atmosphere.
B Finance 212 JING Junyi: These training courses were rich and practical. Practical courses and lectures such as Risk Management and Case Study have enhanced my understanding of Fin-Tech knowledge and improved my practical application. The Round Table Discussion was another feast of knowledge during the internship. The mentors shared the latest technologies and data. From the application of artificial intelligence to the enhancement of insurance data security and transparency through block chain technology, every innovation initiative impressed me. I realized that digital transformation had become an irresistible trend. It not only filled me with anticipation for the future of the financial industry, but also inspired me to learn new technologies and improve myself.
Y Economic Management 231 TIAN Jing: For me, the most valuable gain from this internship lies in the improvement of my interpersonal communication. The mentor team, whose time management and empathetic communication are admirable, demonstrate outstanding professional qualities. The transformation of the team members from their shyness during the presentation to the smooth product promotion attests to the significance of soft skills in workplace. I realized that no matter what job we would take, effective communication, teamwork and emotional management would be indispensable core competencies.
This internship experience, like a prism, reflected both the professional landscape of the financial industry and the survival rules of the international workplace. It brought me not only renewed industry insights but also comprehensive personal growth. This has laid an important foundation for my future career development.
