The Organizing Committee of Contemporary Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling (CUMCM) has recently announced the 2023 competition results. Among the 39 teams from Yancheng Institute of Technology, one team won the national first prize and another secured the national second prize. Additionally, 16 teams received various provincial awards in Jiangsu region.
CUMCM, established in 1992, is an annual national competition. As a Class-A national competition, it is one of the first contests included in the "University Discipline Competition Rankings" and remains one of the largest foundational discipline competitions in China.
This year's contest drew nearly 180,000 participants forming 59,611 teams (54,158 undergraduate teams and 5,453 college teams) from 1,685 institutions across China and countries including the United States, Australia, and Malaysia. The competition awarded 299 first prizes and 1,200 second prizes in the undergraduate category. The national award rate was 2.77%, with first prizes accounting for 0.55%.
The contest showcased YCIT students' innovative capabilities, teamwork, and collaborative skills.
