On January 6, 2025, a signing and unveiling ceremony for the "International Joint Laboratory for Additive Manufacturing and Regenerative Medicine," jointly established by YCIT and Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) of Tanzania, was held in YCIT.
The ceremony was attended by YCIT President Shao Rong, Vice President Ding Cheng, and Vice President Wang Wei, along with MUHAS Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dean of Dental School Ferdinand Mabula Machibya, and former Dean of Dental School Matilda Mtaya Mlangwa. Deputy Director of Yancheng Science and Technology Bureau Wang Zhaojun also attended along with the representatives from YCIT's Science and Technology Department, International Exchange and Cooperation Department, and School of Mechanical Engineering.
President Shao extended a warm welcome to the guests and briefly introduced YCIT's educational history, development, and achievements in cooperation with African universities and research institutions. He noted that China and African countries have always been good brothers and partners characterized by "sincerity, friendship, and mutual respect," with China-Africa relations now entering a new stage of building an all-weather, high-level community with a shared future. He emphasized that the joint laboratory would serve as an important platform for high-level international scientific research cooperation and talent cultivation, aiming to create new prospects for international scientific research at YCIT.
Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor Balandya expressed gratitude for YCIT's hospitality and provided a detailed introduction to MUHAS's educational history, programs, and academic strengths. He expressed MUHAS's willingness to expand exchanges and cooperation with YCIT across multiple disciplines, jointly promoting the development of both institutions.
Wang Zhaojun, representing the Yancheng Science and Technology Bureau, noted that the collaboration between YCIT and MUHAS represents not only a milestone in scientific cooperation between the two universities but also a concrete action in Yancheng's efforts to promote high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road Initiative" and deepen China-Africa friendship and cooperation. He expressed hope that the partnership would inject new vitality into China-Africa university technology cooperation.

Huan Haixiang, Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering, introduced the development of the school, while Liu Shuangyu, the laboratory director, presented the preparation work for the joint laboratory.
During their visit, the Tanzanian delegation toured YCIT's Industry-Education Integration Building and the Laser Additive Manufacturing Research Center to learn about YCIT's educational and scientific research achievements.
This ceremony marks a new stage in YCIT's cooperation with African universities. Moving forward, both parties will continue to deepen their collaboration, working together to create a multi-level, high-quality platform for talent cultivation, technological innovation, and exchange, making positive contributions to building a new era of all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future.
