The Pro-Vice-Chancellor Leigh Doster of the University of Greenwich and her delegation visited YCIT on November 26. Wang Wei, YCIT Vice President, warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced the recent development in talent cultivation, technical innovation and international cooperation. He reviewed the history of collaboration between YCIT and UoG, and highly praised the agreed-upon doctoral program as a new opportunity to deepen cooperation.

Leigh Doster expressed gratitude for the warm reception and appreciated the shared educational philosophies in applied higher education. She emphasized that UoG attached great importance to the cooperation with YCIT and they were willing to expand the cooperation across multiple disciplines to jointly promote the prosperity of education.

Both parties signed a MOU for the doctoral program. During the visit, the delegation toured YCIT’s Industry-Education Integration Building, library, Research Center, and the School of Design and Art, gaining a deeper understanding of YCIT’s educational and research achievements.

YCIT signed a cooperative education agreement with UoG in 2005. We launched the experimental project for cooperative education courses in tourism management and marketing in 2007, and both parties expanded the cooperative international course experimental class projects for mechanical design manufacturing and automation, and electrical engineering and automation majors in 2010. These two projects were approved by the Ministry of Education in 2011, and the cooperative education model was 3+1. Moreover, they successfully passed the evaluation of the Ministry of Education and obtained project extensions in 2013, 2014, 2018 and 2019. Since the cooperation, students proportion of obtaining a second-class or higher degree from UOG has reached 99%, among which the awarding rate of a first-class honors bachelor’s degree was over 50%, fully demonstrating the outstanding achievements of collaborative projects.
