Recently, the 3rd Jiangsu Provincial "Chinese Character Bond" Chinese Speech Contest concluded in Nanjing. KANSINEE THONGROOPSAWAT, a Thai student from Class B 233 majoring Chinese of YCIT School of Humanities, won the top prize with her speech Homesickness Beyond Mountains and Seas. She became the only recipient of the special prize among contestants from 13 cities across Jiangsu province and will represent Jiangsu in the national competition.

With "Beyond" as its theme, this year's provincial contest, part of the "Chinese Character Bond" brand series, attracted international students from universities throughout Jiangsu. YCIT School of International Education collaborated with the School of Humanities to implement an innovative "learning through competition" training model, forming "mentor+peer" coaching teams and creating a three-dimensional training program focused on "language refinement, cultural immersion, and stage practice." Under the guidance of teachers Zhou Xiaoyan, Wang Ke, and Gu Xiaochuan, KANSINEE received systematic training in speech techniques and Chinese cultural understanding. She ultimately impressed the judges with her sincere delivery and vivid metaphor: "Like the spoon-billed sandpiper, I will cross mountains and seas as a messenger, bringing Chinese and Thai civilizations closer together!"

YCIT has established a multi-dimensional training system combining "language practice, cultural experience, and competition refinement," nurturing over a hundred cultural ambassadors through various academic competitions. As KANSINEE stated in her acceptance speech: "In the classrooms of Yancheng Institute of Technology, I've come to understand China's development code; on the competition stage, I've found a bridge for dialogue between civilizations."

YCIT will continue to deepen reforms in international student education, contributing to the cultivation of more cultural ambassadors who can bridge differences "beyond mountains and seas."
