Recently, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, the Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology jointly announced the list of provincial Schools of Energy Science and Technology. The School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at YCIT was successfully selected, marking that the university has entered a new stage of high-quality development in serving the national energy security strategy, supporting the construction of Jiangsu’s new energy system, and facilitating the green and low-carbon transformation of the manufacturing industry.
Focusing on the development needs of the energy sector, YCIT has demonstrated its educational strength and development potential in the energy field. This approval recognizes the effectiveness of YCIT’s energy-related talent cultivation and industry-education integration. Going forward, the university will strictly follow the construction standards, focusing on four core tasks: talent cultivation, technological breakthroughs, achievement transformation, and international cooperation. It will further optimize its disciplinary and specialty systems, build a high-level practical teaching platform, deepen industry-university-research collaborative innovation, and strive to cultivate interdisciplinary energy talents with an international vision, innovation capability, and industry competence.
