On January 15, Professor Kyung-Min Kim and his delegation from Kyungpook National University (KNU) of South Korea visited YCIT. A cooperation meeting was held in Conference Room 830 of the South Campus Administration Building. Xing Xiaoping, Vice President of YCIT, attended the meeting and delivered a welcome speech. Relevant representatives from the School of Marine and Bioengineering and the International Exchange and Cooperation Department participated in the meeting.
The two parties conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as cooperative education, joint research, and talent cultivation, exchanging views on cooperation models, resource sharing, and faculty-student exchanges. They reached a preliminary consensus on promoting pragmatic cooperation in the next phase.
After the meeting, Professor Kyung-Min Kim and his delegation visited the Third Factory of Yueda Kia and SK New Energy (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd.
Kyungpook National University is a renowned national comprehensive university in South Korea, ranking 516th in the 2025 QS World University Rankings. It has ranked first among national universities in South Korea for five consecutive years and 15th among all universities in the country. The university's Coastal Agricultural Research Institute has significant research advantages and international influence in the fields of coastal agriculture, algae resource development, plant molecular breeding, and healthy aquaculture. In 2022, the "Jiangsu Provincial International Joint Laboratory for Coastal Tidal Flat Ecology and Environment in Universities," jointly applied for by the two universities, was approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. In 2023, the two universities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and co-established the "YCIT-Kyungpook National University Coastal Agricultural Research Institute" and the "YCIT-Kyungpook National University Marine Tidal Flat Agricultural Engineering Technology Center." Building on this foundation of cooperation, YCIT applied for the 2025 National Talent Program and successfully obtained approval for a Key Country International Cooperation Project from the Yancheng Municipal Science and Technology Bureau in 2025.
