Recently, the Ministry of Education officially announced the results of the 2025 undergraduate major registration and approval for regular higher education institutions. All four new undergraduate majors proposed by YCIT—Energy Storage Science and Engineering, Intelligent Science and Technology, Biomass Technology and Engineering, and Big Data Management and Application—have been approved, marking a new breakthrough in the university's academic program development and layout.
These newly added majors are closely aligned with national development priorities in artificial intelligence, new energy, the digital economy, new materials, and intelligent manufacturing. They also fit well with the key industrial directions of the Yangtze River Delta and Yancheng region, such as green and low-carbon development, advanced manufacturing, and digital governance. The approval represents a significant achievement for YCIT in optimizing its program structure, advancing the development of emerging engineering disciplines, and improving the quality of applied talent cultivation.
