On April 30th, Vice Presidents Wang Wei, Zhang Qinfang, and Xing Xiaoping, along with Xi Xinguo, Director of the Publicity Department, led an unannounced safety inspection of laboratories, student dormitories, and cafeterias. The inspection was conducted without prior notice, with officials going directly to the relevant locations. Heads of relevant departments accompanied the inspection team.
During the inspection, Vice President Wang Wei emphasized the importance of maintaining constant vigilance regarding safety matters. He stressed the need to firmly establish a "safety first, prevention foremost" mindset and called for strengthened management of gas cylinders, hazardous chemicals, high-temperature and high-pressure equipment, and waste disposal in laboratories. He urged effective implementation of precise prevention measures to mitigate safety risks and ensure a secure research environment for faculty and students.
Vice President Zhang Qinfang urged relevant departments to enhance safety inspections and maintenance of facilities and equipment. He emphasized the importance of learning from recent major fire accidents across the country, thoroughly identifying potential safety hazards, and implementing comprehensive rectification measures to establish closed-loop management systems. These efforts aim to prevent safety incidents and maintain campus stability.
Vice President Xing Xiaoping focused on ensuring adequate food supply during the May Day holiday, stressing adherence to food safety standards and implementation of safety production systems. She also highlighted the need to strengthen dynamic monitoring of student data and implement thorough safety management practices in dormitories, paying attention to details and maintaining strict controls to effectively prevent accidents.
