Recently, the Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission released the list of Jiangsu Industrial Technology Engineering Centers (Preparatory) to be established in 2025. The "Jiangsu Industrial Technology Engineering Center for Multimodal Perception and Intelligent Control of Offshore Wind Power Systems (Preparatory)", jointly applied for by the School of Information Engineering of YCIT and Datang Guoxin Binhai Offshore Wind Power Co., Ltd., has been approved for establishment. This marks that YCIT's industrial technology engineering capabilities in the field of multimodal perception and intelligent control of offshore wind power systems have received high-level recognition at the provincial level.

As a key platform for YCIT to align with and serve the local marine economic development strategy, the center will focus on core challenges faced by offshore wind power systems in complex marine environments, including fault diagnosis, structural safety, and intelligent regulation. It will conduct systematic research on intelligent identification of wind turbine faults under the coupling effect of multi-source environments, structural dynamic monitoring, system performance optimization, and operational resilience improvement. The center aims to build a condition assessment system covering the entire life cycle of offshore wind power and to achieve breakthroughs in key technologies such as multimodal perception fusion, intelligent diagnosis algorithms, dynamic load control, and microgrid coordinated operation.

The approval of the center fully demonstrates the distinctive strengths of YCIT's disciplines—including artificial intelligence, electronic information, and computer technology—in serving the marine economy, and is an important recognition of YCIT's deep local roots and its ability to drive industrial technological innovation. The center provides a brand-new platform for YCIT to carry out in-depth industry-university-research integration, further elevates the university's disciplinary platform capabilities and the cultivation of high-level innovative talents, and facilitates the coordinated development of scientific and technological innovation and industrial practice.
