On the afternoon of June 1, a delegation from Renaissance University of Education (RUoE) in Uzbekistan visited YCIT. The delegation was led by M.M. Vaxobov, Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Sh.E. Ne’matov, Vice President; Ma Cuiling, Director of the Sinology Center; and Zhu Jinhua, Director of the China Affairs Center.
Shao Rong, President of YCIT, met with the guests. Qi Jinhua, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department; Wang Rugang, Dean of the School of Information Engineering; Zhang Jun, Dean of the School of Art and Design; and other relevant officials attended the meeting.
President Shao extended a warm welcome to the delegation and briefed them on YCIT’s recent progress in talent cultivation and international exchanges and cooperation. He noted that against the backdrop of deepening educational and people-to-people exchanges between China and Uzbekistan, advancing the “2+2” joint training program between the two universities holds great significance. He expressed hope that both sides would take this opportunity to strengthen cooperation, deepen friendship, learn from each other, and write a new chapter of shared development.
M.M. Vaxobov expressed gratitude for YCIT’s warm reception and provided a detailed overview of RUoE’s history, academic programs, and disciplinary strengths. He proposed that, under the joint training framework, the two universities should strengthen students’ language foundation, organize teacher training and short-term academic visits, deepen research collaboration across multiple fields, and promote joint curriculum development and co-supervision of students.
The two sides held in-depth discussions on talent cultivation, faculty development, and research collaboration. They reached consensus on academic exchanges and people-to-people visits, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
After the meeting, the delegation visited the School of Information Engineering and the School of Art and Design, touring professional laboratories, teaching and training venues, and graduate exhibition works.
This visit further solidified the foundation for bilateral cooperation and clarified the pathway and direction for implementing the “2+2” joint training program in artificial intelligence and interior design. Both sides agreed to refine the joint training curriculum, institutionalize faculty and student exchanges, ensure the smooth rollout and effective operation of the “2+2” program, and continuously improve the quality of cooperative education and international talent cultivation, so as to achieve mutual benefit and shared progress.
